Overview of the Scholarship

The Founders Scholarship from Africa International University (AIU) comes at a meaningful time as we celebrate 40 years since our founding and welcome Dr. Nelson Makanda as our new Vice-Chancellor. This scholarship is here to make a real difference by supporting and empowering 1,000 students — both from Kenya and around the world. It’s our way of continuing AIU’s commitment to education and leadership development during this important chapter in our history.

As we commemorate four decades of transformative education and embark on a new chapter under Dr. Makanda’s leadership, the Founders Scholarship aims to cover 50% fees for undergraduate programs (Fee Structure), embodying AIU’s vision for a future where every student can achieve their potential. This initiative is more than a scholarship; it’s a testament to AIU’s enduring legacy and its aspiration to impact society positively.

By extending this opportunity to students from every constituency in Kenya, AIU demonstrates an unwavering commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that the next generation of leaders is diverse, empowered, and prepared to tackle global challenges with ethical and innovative solutions. The Founders Scholarship is not just a celebration of our past; it’s a bold step towards a brighter, more equitable future, driven by the belief that education is the cornerstone of societal progress and development.
