Semester 1 2023/2024

Dear Students,

We thank God for a successful semester and we wish you all success in the upcoming exams.

Students will take a short break after exams from 14^th August to 25^th August 2023. You are expected to resume for semester 1 2023/2024 academic year from 28^th August to receive new students and settle for the new semester.

Attached find the academic calendar guiding university academic activities in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Note the following key dates as we prepare for the coming semester:

1. Sem 3 2022/23 Exam weeks 31^st July to 9^th August 2023
2. Pre-registration (unit booking) for Semester 1 2023/2024- from 10^th August 2023 to 1^st September 2023 N.B. Unit booking/registration will be done using a new Academic Management System and guidelines will be sent in good time
3. Orientation of new students – 29^th August 2023 to 1^st September 2023
4. Beginning of semester 1 2023/24 classes – 4^th September 2023 N.B. All students should ensure class attendance from the 1^st week of the semester since the new academic management system will track attendance from the 1^st week and those who miss more than 20% of classes will not be able to print exam cards.  
5. Registration – (confirmation of units, unit adjustments (add and drop) and fees payment)- 4^th September to 15^th September 2023 N.B. All students should therefore prepare to pay up all semester 1 fees or have signed a fee payment plan by end of week 2 of semester 1 2023/2024.
6. Deregistration from the semester for non-payment –  18^th September 2023
7. Senate’s approval of semester 3 2022/2023 grades: 18^th September 2023
