The Institute for the Study of African Realities (ISAR), a constituent school of Africa International University (AIU), in collaboration with University of Otago, PRN, American Friends Service Committee, Centre for Epistemic Justice, and World Vision is pleased to announce The Biennial International Peace Conference for 2023 to be held in Nairobi, Kenya.
Theme: Contextualizing Peacebuilding: Seizing Opportunities for African Realities
This conference aims at interrogating a predicated local turn as a way of bridging the lacuna in knowledge production systems, most of which follow from the colonial texts and decrees, along the geographical boundaries.
The conference consequently targets peace researchers (including postgraduate students and distinguished scholars), and peace practitioners (including Media experts, politicians, NGOs/CBOs, State agencies, and Development Partners) to join and share their research findings and experience in practice in the debate about contextual knowledge as a breakthrough to the impending [re] conceptualization of peacebuilding in Africa, and to problematize some general assumptions made in contemporary interventions and scholarship.
