VC’s Message

Greetings from Africa International University!

We are most indebted to the Almighty God for His grace at such a time in our history as a Christian institution.

On 4th of March 2018, we paused to recognize that it is seven years since we got a charter and changed from NEGST to Africa International University. Later in October this year, we will again pause to thank God as we mark 35 years since we came into being as a Graduate School of Theology. As we thank God for bringing us this far, we recognize the enormous responsibilities that we carry as a Christian university to train godly leaders. Our stakeholders also have high expectations for us to remain a competent Christ-centered institution, channeling graduates to various nations and communities for godly and transformational impact. We cannot take it for granted that the hand of God has been upon us and our hope to accomplish all these tasks rests fully on Him. Praise be to His name.

At this moment in time when Christian higher education is being challenged to reinvent and reposition itself, we see the opportunity to reinforce and extend our long-standing strength for the past 35 years. In a rapidly changing global environment, we continually affirm the fundamental Christian values and purposes in quality higher education. AIU is filled with promise for transforming God’s world and His people through creativity and innovation.

We continue to thank God for the steady growth in the student population, particularly the undergraduates. Since some of them are young and need mentors, the university staff and faculty have been very intentional in organizing a mentorship conference which incorporated not only our students but also other students in high schools and universities. The sessions were impactful with renowned speakers gracing the conference and engaging in topics that the youth found very helpful.
This student growth brings the challenge of expanding single students’ housing as well as classroom space. As the university embarks on a campaign for resources to address these twin challenges, we welcome our partners to embrace with us the great future that lies ahead for AIU as an institution founded and built by God.

Thank you for your continued partnership and prayer for AIU as we educate students to pursue enduring truth to God’s glory. We trust God to enable us remain contextually relevant in a dynamic environment and for our impact to be felt within the African continent and beyond.
