The Master of Divinity programme is designed to provide an integrated training for those entering the pastorate in diverse situations, including missionary service, church education ministries, teaching in theological institutions and other related types of Christian service.

The programme draws from various divisions of the theological disciplines, thus allowing the programme to give the student the option to concentrate on one area of emphasis or specialisation. Students in the programme can pursue any one of the following emphases: Biblical Studies, Christian Education, Church History, Missions, Pastoral, Theological and Translation Studies. On the other hand, a student can pursue a general area of study without taking any emphasis

  • Demonstrate a good general knowledge of the content of the Old and New Testaments.
  • Interact biblically and intelligently with historical and current theological issues and positions both within the African and global contexts.
  • Clearly articulate the call of Christians to world evangelisation and demonstrate that understanding through personal involvement
  • Demonstrate basic teaching skills in his/her area of ministry.
  • Provide leadership in the church and para-church organizations

Entry requirements


Holders of a Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Honours [Upper Division] or higher) from Africa International University or other universities recognized by the Africa International University Senate.


Holders of a Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Honours [Lower Division]) from Africa International University who have at least two years of relevant experience.


Holders of a postgraduate diploma (credit level or higher) from Africa International University or other institutions recognized by the Africa International University Senate.


In exceptional cases, Senate, on the recommendation of any of the schools, may admit to the Masters program, applicants who do not hold a first degree, provided that such candidates, based on the research and academic work they have done, can demonstrate that they are well qualified to undertake postgraduate work. This is so long as it is in line with the relevant regulatory bodies

Remote Teaching & Learning via Microsoft Team-Semester

Evening classes- Monday-Thursday (Intake: Jan, May, Sept)

Weekend classes – Friday-Saturday (Intake : Jan, May, Sept)

Modular classes for 2 weeks( April, August, Nov/Dec)
