The programme seeks to bring Christian influence on the education frontier, going beyond the perspective of education as information, on to education as formation and eventually education as holistic transformation—intellectually, socially and spiritually.

Entry requirements


Applicants must hold a MA in Education or its equivalent in the relevant area, earned from a recognized university, with a minimum 2nd Class upper division or 3.2 GPA on a four-point scale or their equivalents.


In exceptional cases, Senate, on the recommendation of any of the schools, may admit to the doctorate program, applicants who do not hold a Master’s degree, provided that such candidates, on the basis of the research, professional and academic work they have done, can demonstrate that they are well qualified to undertake doctoral work. This is so long as it is in line with the relevant regulatory bodies.

Mode of study


The programme comprises essentially two phases Seminar phase (duration of 1 year), taken in residence and covering six seminars (2 critical thinking, 2 methods and 2 in concentration area) for a total of 18 semester credits. This phase is immediately followed by a qualifying exam that must be completed successfully in order to achieve candidacy. The Research phase takes 2 – 3 years duration (24 semester credits).
