Erasmus+ KA171 Funded Internship in Romania

Internship Opportunity – University of Craiova, Romania

Africa International University (AIU), in collaboration with the University of Craiova, Romania, is pleased to announce a two month fully funded Erasmus+ KA171 internship mobility opportunity for 10 AIU students.

This unique internship will run in conjunction with the Craiova International Shakespeare Festival, one of Europe’s most prestigious cultural events, offering students a hands-on international learning experience.

Internship Period

  • Dates: 1 April – 31 May 2026
  • Duration: 2 months
  • Host Institution: University of Craiova, Romania
  • Main Activity Location: International Shakespeare Theatre Festival

Internship Focus

  • Students will gain practical experience in organizing and supporting an international theatre festival while developing professional, technical, and intercultural skills, including:
  • Festival operations and coordination
  • Audience engagement and customer service
  • Technical and backstage support
  • Intercultural and multilingual communication
  • Event management and teamwork
  • Professionalism and reliability under pressure

Who Can Apply

  • Open to Diploma and Undergraduate Students from all AIU schools who meet the following criteria:
  • Diploma: 1st year (2nd semester) and 2nd year (1st semester)
  • Undergraduate: 2nd and 3rd year students
  • Motivated, committed, and ready to work in an international, multicultural environment

Financial Support

  • Monthly Grant: €950 (student mobility grant)
  • Travel Grant: €1,188 (to and from Kenya)
  • Accommodation: Student residence (~€150/month)
  • Meals: Student cafeteria (meals under €10)

Note: Students are responsible for visa application costs. The University of Craiova will provide invitation letters and institutional support after acceptance.

  • Copy of valid Passport (minimum 6 months validity beyond travel date, with 2 blank pages)

  • Proof of Registration at AIU
  • Academic Transcript of Records
  • Medical Certificate (confirming good health)
