Africa International University to Host 2025 Biennial International Conference on One New Humanity in Christ.

Africa International University (AIU) is proud to announce the 2025 Biennial International Conference, scheduled to take place from October 29 to 31, 2025, under the theme: “One New Humanity in Christ: Glory, Violence, and the Gospel of Peace in Africa.”

This landmark event will serve as the launchpad for a three-year research initiative that seeks to examine the paradox of Africa’s identity as both a vibrant center of modern Christianity and a continent still grappling with deep-seated conflict and violence. Hosted at the university’s serene Karen campus, the conference will bring together a dynamic and diverse community of scholars, theologians, faith leaders, and peace practitioners from across the continent and beyond.

A Journey of Learning and Transformation

Africa’s story is one of spiritual vibrancy and cultural richness, yet it is also marred by episodes of violence, injustice, and division. This conference invites participants to engage deeply with the gospel message of peace and reconciliation, examining how it speaks to Africa’s historical and present-day challenges. Grounded in Christian theology and enriched by interdisciplinary dialogue, this gathering aims to birth fresh, contextualized solutions that uphold human dignity and promote healing across the continent.

The conference envisions a collaborative learning journey, where participants will explore the theological, cultural, historical, and socio-political dynamics of conflict and peacemaking. It is a unique platform where gospel witness is brought into active conversation with the realities of African life and struggle.

Call for Abstracts and Papers

AIU extends a warm invitation to scholars, researchers, church leaders, and practitioners across Africa and the globe to submit papers and research proposals that reflect interdisciplinary and African-contextualized approaches. Contributions are welcome from diverse disciplines and perspectives, with the following sub-themes as guiding pillars:

  1. Biblical and Theological Foundations of Justice, Peace, and Reconciliation
  2. Christianity, the Churches, and the Pursuit of Justice, Peace, and Reconciliation
  3. Religion, Culture, and Anthropology Perspectives – including African traditions, Islam, and Christianity
  4. Social Sciences and Humanities Perspectives – exploring the complexity of identity and violence
  5. Interdisciplinary Approaches – examining the interplay of glory, violence, and identity in Africa’s struggles for liberation, human rights, and reconciliation

This hybrid conference model ensures broad participation, allowing for robust engagement both on-site at AIU and online. It promises to be a space where ideas will converge, networks will be strengthened, and actionable knowledge will emerge to contribute to a more peaceful and just Africa.
