Jubilation, triumph, happiness, and unmeasurable thanksgiving are among the few graceful words we can use to express the AIU celebrations of the 50th anniversary of FOCUS Kenya. FOCUS Kenya has been a centerpiece in developing and supporting ministry among students including the AIU Christian Union both in operations and more so through STEM chaplaincy staff placements. The partnership has deeply impacted AIU’s efforts to continuously produce Christ-centered leaders who are ethically and spiritually firm to serve God’s people and the world.
As we celebrate this great collaboration between Africa International University and FOCUS Kenya, we recognize the privilege AIU has had to train Christ-centered leaders who have served in various capacities in FOCUS including four FOCUS Directors over the last years namely, Rev. John Gichinga, Simon Masibo, Dr. George Ogalo, and the current National Director Pastor Simon Kande. In addition, we are extremely proud of our Alumni who attained their Doctorate degrees in AIU and have served in various capacities at FOCUS including Dr. Nelson Makanda, Dr. Karita Mbagara, Dr. Richard Mutura, and AIU registrar Dr. Esther Nyagah. We also celebrate former and current AIU staff and Alumni who worked/are still closely serving with FOCUS, among them Dr. Oliver Kisaka, AIU Chaplain Rev. Canon. Omondi Siwa, AIU registrar, Dr. Esther Nyagah, and Mrs. Catherine Kiuna.
As FOCUS celebrates its 50th anniversary, receive a thumbs up, kudos, and warm congratulations from the AIU community. The 100th is coming and surely through His “goodness and mercy”, AIU will be part of the story.
