From Classroom to Green Tech Pioneers: AIU Students Shine at National Hackathon
Africa International University (AIU) continues to make its mark as a hub of innovation and transformation, as our students demonstrated exceptional creativity and skill at the Oracle GreenTech Hackathon 2025.
Team ChakulaShare, representing AIU, emerged as the 2nd Runners-Up in this highly competitive national event that brought together top universities and young innovators from across Kenya. The hackathon challenged participants to design digital solutions promoting environmental sustainability and food security through technology.
ChakulaShare’s project stood out for its ingenuity and real-world relevance, a tech-driven solution that connects communities, reduces food waste, and promotes equitable food distribution. The team’s achievement reflects AIU’s growing strength in fostering technology-driven leadership grounded in purpose and community impact.
We congratulate the students for their outstanding performance, emphasizing that “AIU’s vision is to nurture leaders who combine innovation with integrity and apply technology as a tool for service and transformation.”
The success of Team ChakulaShare is a testament to AIU’s commitment to equipping students with practical skills, ethical grounding, and a problem-solving mindset, qualities that define our graduates as changemakers in today’s rapidly evolving world.
We celebrate our students and mentors for this remarkable accomplishment and for representing the AIU spirit of excellence, creativity, and community transformation.
